Presentation and discussion with two OWS activists from NYC traveling around the country to build awareness and solidarity around these issues. Join us in building the struggle against the US Injustice System!

Join a discussion of the historic and present day state repression of political activists, and the ongoing targeting of communities of color as means of social control.

The recent upsurge in activism in the United States, specifically the Occupy movement, has prompted a change of consciousness in many people. But with this dissent, activists (many young, white, and middle class) are facing retaliation for the first time as a result of their decision to challenge capital and state power.

This comes in a context of historical policing and imprisonment of political people, and during of an age of mass incarceration in the United States with over 2.5 million people in prison and over 5 million others on parole or probation, the majority of whom are African American or Latino, and poor.

As the repression of the Occupy movement intensifies, more and more activists are feeling the heat of this brutal and defective US justice system – and this is building unlikely alliances between young activists, more experienced activists who have faced constant state retaliation for their political work, and targeted communities historically experiencing (and resisting) state control.
