Washington, D.C.: Presentation and Discussion Session with Meredith Aby, activist from Minneapolis and Sarah Smith, activist from Chicago
In the Fall of 2010, 23 anti-war and international solidarity activists in Chicago and Minneapolis were raided by the FBI and called in front of a Grand Jury with regard to information they might have about “material support for terrorism”. All of the activists have refused to appear before the Grand Jury and none of them have been charged with any crimes.
On Friday, April 8th two of the women who are refusing to participate in the Grand Jury process will be in Washington D.C. to give updates on their situation, including:
- detailed background on their case
- why the activists are being investigated
- why they are refusing to cooperate with the Grand Jury, and
- how the activist community can provide support
Please join us at the afternoon event or the evening event with these activists.
Sponsored by the Montgomery County Civil Rights Committee.
