The Committee to Stop FBI Repression supports the campaign to Free Ricardo Palmera/Simón Trinidad. Please promote and attend this important international event in New York City this Tuesday, Dec. 5!

Since the FARC-EP and the Colombian government signed a peace accord there continue to be terrible human rights abuses with targeted assassinations of social movement leaders.

The United States continues to imprison Colombian political prisoner and peacemaker Simón Trinidad under very difficult conditions, while Colombian society asks that he be returned to his country to assist in the reconciliation process.

Come and hear speakers from Colombia and others talk about the peace process and the case of Simón Trinidad, including:

  • Diego Martinez: Legal counselor to the peace talks in Havana, and to the CSIVI
  • Cathy Rojas: A Colombian-American organizing Colombia solidarity in NYC, who will give an immigrant’s perspective on the peace accords
  • Mark Burton: Lawyer of imprisoned political prisoner Simón Trinidad, who will talk about the case of Simón Trinidad and comment on the conditions of his imprisonment
  • Michela Martinazzi: Host and master of ceremonies, with National Committee to Free Ricardo Palmera/Simón Trinidad
