Rasmea’s prosecutors deny the horror of torture; Judge Drain accepts their argument

[title]

Rasmea Odeh, a survivor of vicious torture at the hands of the Israeli military, will be compelled to undergo hours of psychological evaluation by a government forensic examiner, according to a ruling by Federal Judge Gershwin Drain.  Drain cancelled a September 22 hearing on the matter in Detroit, where supporters from across the Midwest had planned to join Rasmea.

Rasmea Defense Committee update to the mobilization for Detroit June 13th

Just last week, Judge Gershwin Drain informed Rasmea's attorneys that the June 13th status hearing will take place in chambers, which means it will not be in open court, and which also means that it may be a very short (between an hour and two, possibly less) proceeding.

Happy Birthday Rasmea!

Sunday, May 22nd, is Rasmea’s birthday, and there’s no better gift she would want than for everyone to donate to her defense fund.  You all know we are headed to Detroit for a status hearing in a few weeks, and that a new trial may be on the horizon.

Let’s start raising funds in preparation!

Rasmea’s supporters to mobilize for another status hearing in Detroit

On Monday, June 13, 2016, Rasmea Odeh will appear with her attorneys before Judge Gershwin Drain for a status conference at the federal courthouse in Detroit, Michigan. Supporters will travel to Detroit as well, as they have done for all the previous court dates, to urge for a new trial for this Palestinian American icon who was convicted of a politically-motivated immigration charge in 2014, and sentenced to 18 months in prison and deportation last year.

Rasmea Odeh emergency response rallies!

The Committee to Stop FBI Repression is part of the Rasmea Defense Committee. We contend that Judge Gershwin Drain did not allow for a full and fair trial. We believe this is why Rasmea was convicted and sentenced to 18 months in prison and deportation.
