Carlos Montes Raid

Statement by Immigrant Youth Justice League: Drop the Charges Against Carlos Montes

Drop the Charges Against Carlos Montes!

In the early morning of May 17, an armed SWAT team accompanied FBI agents as they smashed Carlos Montes' door and raided his Los Angeles home. The agents proceeded to confiscate his computer, cell phone, and hundreds of printed and digital documents related to his forty years of activism in the Chicano and immigrant rights movements. They also questioned him about his political activity. Carlos was arrested and detained overnight for firearm code violation and is scheduled to appear in court on June 16.
